Corvallis Integrative Bodywork

27 years of experience listening with my hands and utilizing diverse modalities to help make you feel your very best! I continue to find the best outcomes from listening to you, and engaging with you at the level that is right for you; this could be a combination of Myofascial release, targeted NeuroMuscular work, deeper tissue work and extremely light Craniosacral therapy.

Myofascial Release

Fascia surrounds every muscle, bone and organ in the body. It is a all-pervasive web of perception and response, constantly adjusting to it’s environment, be that physical, neural, or emotional.

Therapy involves perception of movement, restrictions and patterns of motion in the entire web of fascia - this can be contracting, pulling, circular, or pendulum-shaped. This can be around a wrist, up the neck into the head, or a larger area wrapping around the hip and into the opposite shoulder. By perceiving and following these movements, we can open a small, enclosing pattern into a more universal movement - the whole body moving as one free being!

Craniosacral Therapy

The Cerebrospinal system encases the brain and spinal chord, the Central Nervous System. This system is in a constant gentle, slow rhythmic movement as it perceives and responds to everything. CST balances and relaxes the Central Nervous System by listening to these slow, subtle rhythms, gently releasing restrictions in the system, and encouraging free and robust circulation throughout. With the lightest of pressure, almost imperceivable adjustments awaken and engage the self-healing and balancing aspects of the self. The very gentle touch follows your body, and helps resolve defensive responses. A session brings a sense of completeness, openness, and joy!

NeuroMuscular Therapy

Deep within muscles are Spindle Cells, sending nerve massages to trigger contraction - great for movement, not so much when a “feedback loop” occurs, and the muscle becomes chronically contracted. NMT engages at the Neural Response Threshold of a muscle, slowly and gently expanding this threshold, allowing muscles to more fully relax and elongate, helping to release the cycles of contraction.
